Online shopping is no longer just a fad, its a lifestyle.
How does it work?
One quick word on packaging: Most clothing has a pretty substantial amount of extra fabric added to its outer fabric, for additional durability. But all that extra fabric means that when you order things online from retailers like Nordstrom, you’ll need to purchase a slightly larger size than you’ll order in person at the store. So be aware that if you order two items in the same size in the same time period, you wont be able to buy your second item in the store that size if you buy online. It may sound like a small point, but it makes all the difference in the world when you want to fit into the clothes you’ve been eyeing all year.
How to find the right fit for you?
When I ordered my first shirt from ModCloth, I found it difficult to find the right fit. I usually wear a medium in most shirts, but wanted to wear a smaller one in this particular size. I’m petite, and with my smaller frame I didn’t want to have a large hole in the middle of the shirt. I had to purchase several shirts with the neckline higher to try and find the right fit, and it was a little frustrating. I ended up returning half of the shirts because they were too large. This didn’t really bother me because there were enough sizes available to accommodate everyone in my size range. The store did have great customer service though and I’m glad I was able to find a coupon code at Raise.
I have two pairs of shorts for everyday and also for travel, and always get asked for a size as I go through the luggage at the airport or at a hotel. They do not have them in a standard width and I’m very small. The small is too tight. I don’t want to get out of the seat, they’re uncomfortable to wear. As I walk around the store I can see other people having trouble wearing them and they are not in standard width sizes. I would also like to get in touch with customer service to get a different size so that I don’t have to buy a second pair.
As a small backpacking backpacker, I’ve got a problem when packing. Not to mention that I’m a small woman, so I don’t want my backpack bursting open when I have my laptop in the backpack.
