I’m on a mission to help other service providers get on the ball and create some passive streams of income!
Learn from me…I’ve been a VA for 5 years, listened to some very smart people say continuously to create passive income and yet I never listened.
I’m still trading dollars for hours but I had a very sweet taste of passive income earnings this month when I sold my Super Simple Audio product and I’m hooked! By spending even just 30 minutes a day creating a product or a plan to promote affiliate products, you can also have some passive income streaming in.
Stop the Excuses
My biggest excuse for not creating a product was “I’m so busy with my client work, I don’t have time.”
Yeah, the only reason I didn’t have time was because of my poor time management skills; taking a few too many breaks or watching a little too much tv at night. It’s not because I was billing 100 hours a week. Had I been working more carefully, I could have traded in one show a night for some product brainstorming and by now I’d have quite a nice pile of products.
However, I dismissed how important passive income is to service providers and here I sit, with just one product completed but lots more ideas percolating.
Another big excuse I used was, “Who would want to listen to me?” Yep, it’s a mindset thing. But as was proven with my first product sales this month, I have people in my circles who NEEDED my product, who NEEDED the tutorial I provided, who were stuck in place because they didn’t know the next steps in the process. So, no, I’m no big guru with thousands of followers but I was still able to help a small group of my peers.
It’s a pretty awesome feeling š
Get Off the Bench and Start Moving!
Action is the keyword in all of this. It’s one thing to write down your brainstorming ideas but certainly another to put things into place to get a product created.
The same is true if you want to tackle affiliate marketing instead of product creation. You need a plan; you need to get out of your comfort zone and promote yourself. Toot your own horn instead of waiting for somebody else to do it!
And, as I’ve heard many experts over the years say, don’t wait until it’s perfect before launching your product. You certainly want a quality product if the graphics aren’t quite right or the formatting of the report needs more tweaking, it’s OK to release the first version and then release a pretty-fied version. Don’t let the idea of perfection stop you from following through on your product because if you’re like me, you’ll get distracted by something else and your plans will get thrown to the back burner.
I want to challenge you to get moving on your passive income plan! Share your thoughts on the idea below and if you are stuck in a certain spot, ask a question below so I can help you move forward. Instead of trading dollars for hours every day, do some extra work upfront and continue to sell your product well into the future.
